Hosting and server log files

When you visit the website, the hosting provider automatically processes technical data (including IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser type) in server log files to ensure the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Web analytics with Umami

This website uses Umami, a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics tool, to anonymously evaluate website usage. Umami does not set cookies and does not store any persistent, personally identifying data. To distinguish visitors, a daily-rotating, anonymized hash value is generated that does not allow conclusions to be drawn about individual people. The IP address is only used momentarily for coarse, country-level geolocation and is never stored. Data collected includes pages visited, referrers, device type, and triggered events (e.g. clicks on certain buttons). All data is processed exclusively on a self-managed server in the EU and is never shared with third parties. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in the needs-based design and statistical evaluation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Leaderboard of the Asteroids mini-game

This website includes an optional mini-game with a public leaderboard. Anyone who voluntarily enters a name after playing agrees that this name, together with the score achieved, will be stored and displayed publicly on the leaderboard, visible to all visitors of the website. Entering a real name is not required — using a pseudonym is recommended. Only the top ten entries are ever stored; all other entries are deleted automatically and immediately. The legal basis is the consent given through the voluntary entry (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Cookies

This website uses a technically necessary cookie that stores your chosen language (German/English) for about one year. It serves solely to enable core website functionality, contains no personal data, and is never used for tracking or analytics purposes. As a strictly necessary cookie, no consent is required under § 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection to processing (Art. 21). Any consent given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future by contacting office@schruef.at. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian supervisory authority: Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at
